Common Label Issues

Solutions to the most common problems with the electronic buffet labeling system

This section covers the most frequent issues that can arise with the electronic label system and their solutions.

The label does not update

  • Check the antenna connection: Make sure the antenna is connected to the internet and powered on. Without a connection, labels cannot receive updates.
  • Verify the serial number: Confirm that the serial number of the physical label matches the one registered in the system. A single-digit error prevents communication.
  • Review the active schedule: Verify that a schedule is configured for the current service and that the label has a dish linked in that schedule.

The label shows the dish from the previous service

  • This happens when no dish (or the hotel logo) has been assigned to the label for the current service.
  • Solution: Link a dish or the “Logo” recipe to the label in the corresponding schedule. Never leave labels unassigned.

The label shows incorrect information

  • Review the linking: Check that the correct label is linked to the correct dish in the schedules section.
  • Verify the recipe: Make sure the name, description, and allergens of the recipe are up to date in the system.

The label appears blank

  • Dead battery: Electronic labels have a limited battery life. If the label does not respond to any changes, it may need to be replaced.
  • Out of range: The label may be too far from the antenna. Verify that it is within coverage range.

Not all labels appear in the system

  • Check the zones: Make sure enough labels have been created in each zone from the configuration section.
  • Pending serial numbers: Verify that all physical labels have their serial numbers registered in the system.

Last-minute changes are not reflected

  • If you made a change from the Current tab and the label does not update, wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
  • If the problem persists, check the antenna connection and that the change was saved correctly.

Tip: When facing any issue, the first step should always be to verify that the antenna has an internet connection and that serial numbers are correctly registered.
