DNS Configuration Guide for Your Hoteligy WebApp
How to configure DNS records (CNAME) to set up a custom subdomain for your Hoteligy WebApp with automatic SSL certificate generation.
Important Note about Hoteligy’s Infrastructure
Hoteligy uses Cloudflare services to manage load balancing, DNS resolution, and the automatic generation of SSL certificates for clients’ customized WebApps.
Hoteligy’s servers, protected and optimized by Cloudflare, are distributed across various Amazon AWS regions and zones located in Spain, the United States, and Asia, ensuring high availability, low latency (speed), and global security.
Thanks to this infrastructure:
- Your WebApp will run under a custom subdomain (for example, app2.tuhotel.com) with a secure HTTPS connection.
- Cloudflare ensures high availability, speed, and security.
You only need to follow the steps below to correctly configure your DNS, and we will take care of the rest.
1. What Are We Going to Do?
This guide will help you:
- Set up a custom subdomain (for example: app2.tuhotel.com) to access the Hoteligy WebApp.
- Configure the required DNS records so we can issue a valid SSL certificate on behalf of your hotel, ensuring a secure connection (https).
2. Steps to Follow
Choose the Subdomain You Want to Use
Common examples:
- app.tuhotel.com
- clientes.tuhotel.com
- For this example, we will use: app2.tuhotel.com
3. Required DNS Configuration
I. Main CNAME for the WebApp
You must create a CNAME record that points your chosen subdomain to our server.
- Type: CNAME
- Name / Host: app2 (or the subdomain of your choice)
- Value / Destination: lb-app.hoteligy.app
- TTL: Automatic or 3600 seconds.
II. CNAME for SSL Validation (ACME Challenge)
To allow us to generate your SSL certificate, you need to create another special CNAME that enables us to validate your domain via ACME Challenge.
- Type: CNAME
- Name / Host: _acme-challenge.app2
- Value / Destination: app2.tuhotel.com.1399cd5329d1350b.dcv.cloudflare.com
- TTL: Automatic or 3600 seconds.
4. DNS Verification and Propagation
- DNS changes may take 30 minutes to 24 hours to propagate.
Verify the CNAMEs:
- app2.tuhotel.com should point to lb-app.hoteligy.app.
- _acme-challenge.app2.tuhotel.com should point to app2.tuhotel.com.1399cd5329d1350b.dcv.cloudflare.com.
5. Automatic SSL Certificate Generation
- Once the ACME Challenge is configured, Hoteligy will automatically generate your SSL certificate.
- Access to your WebApp will be secure via https://app2.tuhotel.com
DNS Configuration Summary
1. WebApp Subdomain CNAME
- Name: app2
- Value: lb-app.hoteligy.app
2. SSL Validation CNAME
- Name: _acme-challenge.app2
- Value: app2.tuhotel.com.1399cd5329d1350b.dcv.cloudflare.com
